The Biden White House is once again under fire — and this time, it’s not just speculation. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has officially subpoenaed Anthony Bernal, a longtime senior adviser to First Lady Jill Biden, after Bernal refused to comply with a voluntary interview request. At the center of the probe? An alleged and increasingly disturbing cover-up of Joe Biden’s mental decline — and growing evidence suggesting that autopen signatures were used to quietly push policy without the President’s direct involvement.

In other words: Who was actually running the country?

Bernal, often described as Jill Biden’s right-hand man, now finds himself at the heart of a scandal that’s roiling Washington. While other White House aides have either testified or agreed to appear before the Oversight Committee, Bernal is stonewalling — raising serious questions about what he may be trying to hide.

Chairman Comer pulled no punches in his statement: “Given your close connection with both former President Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden, the Committee sought to understand if you contributed to an effort to hide former President Biden’s fitness to serve from the American people.”

That’s a damning accusation — and one that echoes the frustrations of millions of Americans who watched as Biden stumbled through speeches, forgot names, repeated lies, and seemed wholly unfit for the Oval Office.

The Committee says it’s looking into whether top officials within the Biden White House engaged in a coordinated effort to shield Biden’s cognitive decline from public view while radical policies were signed — sometimes literally — by autopen. The subpoena signals that Republicans are no longer content with whispers or speculation. They want answers.

Comer emphasized that Bernal’s “testimony is critical” and that Congress may need to revisit legislative oversight on presidential fitness. “They must appear before the House Oversight Committee and provide truthful answers about President Biden’s cognitive state and who was calling the shots,” Comer said.

Predictably, Biden issued a defiant denial, saying, “I made the decisions during my presidency… Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.” But the American people aren’t buying it — not after years of carefully choreographed press conferences, carefully managed appearances, and whispers from insiders who claim the President often wasn’t up to the job.

President Trump, responding to the scandal, didn’t mince words: “This conspiracy marks one of the most dangerous and concerning scandals in American history. The American public was purposefully shielded from discovering who wielded the executive power.”

Conservatives on X (formerly Twitter) erupted in frustration, especially at the double standard. “They arrested PATRIOT Peter Navarro for not complying with a subpoena,” one user posted. “Put him in handcuffs and leg irons in the airport to humiliate him — then threw him in prison. No mercy.”

Other replies echoed the same growing sentiment on the right: frustration not just with Democrats, but with GOP leadership. “We hear about corruption every day and illegal activities, but no one is arrested or charged. So who cares — nothing will happen,” one conservative wrote. Another blasted Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying, “We on the other hand have deep state @AGPamBondi and she doesn’t do sh\*t. No justice. None.”

The subpoena to Bernal may be just the beginning, but one thing is clear: the curtain is being pulled back on what increasingly looks like one of the biggest cover-ups in modern American history. The question remains — will anyone be held accountable?
