Jessie Tendavi is a cafeteria worker. She works for Advocate Children’s Hospital, which is located in Oak Lawn. Everybody knew that Jessie was dedicated to her job.
Every year, she does something special for the kids at the hospital.
However, this year she decided that she was going to go above and beyond what she usually does.Jessie saved up $5,000 over the course of five years.
She was able to purchase over 1,300 toys from Walgreens and Family Dollar.
Jessie stated that she is willing to do whatever she can to make sure that the children are happy.
The children were able to pick the toys that they wanted. Jessie has been buying toys for children at the hospital ever since 2009. In 2009, she purchased 100 toys.
Jessie stated that God compelled her to give to the children. She got tired of seeing children on television suffering.
She felt like she had to do her part to help the children. Jessie wanted to give children something to play with so that they would be able to forget about their pain.
Jessie has been married for 19 years, but she and her husband do not have any children on their own. However, she treats the children at the hospital like her own.
