In a shocking—but not surprising—confession, former Obama speechwriter and “Pod Save America” co-host Jon Lovett has admitted what many Americans have suspected for years: Democrats knew President Joe Biden was in steep decline, and they chose to cover it up.
Lovett, a prominent voice in left-wing media, made the explosive admission during an appearance on Jon Stewart’s *The Weekly Show* podcast. Speaking candidly with Stewart and fellow Pod Save America host Jon Favreau, Lovett said he deliberately withheld concerns about Biden’s physical and mental health during the 2024 campaign because he wanted him to “f—— win.”
Yes, you read that right—one of the loudest mouths in progressive media admitted he kept quiet not out of principle or honesty, but for pure political gain.
“I remember feeling I want to talk about this as a huge liability,” Lovett said. “To talk about this is something Joe Biden can overcome, but I’m not going to go so far as to say, ‘I think Joe Biden must drop out. He is too old to be president.’ A, because I didn’t know exactly what was going on behind the scenes, but B, if Joe Biden is the candidate, I want him to f—— win.”
Translation: the truth about Biden’s declining abilities didn’t matter—winning did.
Lovett went on to explain that he was terrified of giving conservatives any ammunition. “Having the words we’re saying taken out of context and all of a sudden be part of the case against Joe Biden from the right — that would use any person criticizing Joe Biden from the left as a weapon against him,” he said.
In other words, keeping the American people in the dark about their commander-in-chief’s deteriorating condition was a calculated decision to protect the Democratic agenda—not the country.
This comes as CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson promote their new book *Original Sin*, which exposes in greater detail the Biden team’s frantic efforts to conceal the president’s decline. The book recounts a private April 2024 meeting between Biden and the Pod Save America hosts at the White House, where Lovett, Favreau, and fellow Obama alum Dan Pfeiffer reportedly left “deeply disturbed” by what they witnessed. The president, the authors claim, was rambling and incoherent.
And yet, these men walked out of the West Wing and went right back to selling Americans the lie that Joe Biden was fully capable of leading the free world.
For years, conservatives who pointed out Biden’s obvious decline were ridiculed, called conspiracy theorists, or accused of being “ageist.” Now, we’re learning that even top left-wing influencers were raising the same concerns—privately. They just didn’t want voters to hear it before Election Day.
The mask is slipping. Democrats lied, the media enabled it, and the country got saddled with a president in visible decline. Jon Lovett’s confession may not surprise you, but it confirms a bitter truth: the progressive elite will protect their power at any cost—even if it means lying to the American people about the health of the man with the nuclear codes.
