In a shocking display of unhinged rage, a Florida pizza delivery driver stands accused of savagely stabbing a pregnant woman 14 times in front of her 5-year-old daughter over what authorities believe was frustration with a meager tip. According to reports, 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo was arrested and faces an array of charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, home invasion, and aggravated assault. The violence began after Alvelo delivered a pizza to the victim, identified as Melinda Irizarry, and received a $2 tip. Dissatisfied, Alvelo reportedly “rolled her eyes and walked away.”
Hours later, when Irizarry and her family were asleep, Alvelo allegedly returned with an armed accomplice. The pair forced their way into the motel room, terrorizing Irizarry’s boyfriend and young daughter, who were held at gunpoint in a bathroom while Alvelo unleashed a frenzied attack on the victim.
Irizarry was stabbed 14 times and later learned at the hospital that she was a few weeks pregnant. Miraculously, she survived the ordeal and is now recovering after surgery.
“This is pretty traumatic,” Irizarry said, recounting the harrowing experience to Fox35. She explained that the low tip was due to poor service, as the pizza arrived late and cold, and Alvelo was rude during the delivery.
“It wasn’t like she was just upset. It was like she was in a frenzy mode,” Irizarry said, still grappling with the senseless violence that unfolded before her young daughter’s eyes. “You got the money. My boyfriend told you where there was more money, and you didn’t go get it.”
Her heartbreak was palpable as she added, “My daughter seeing that whole thing … it’s pretty heartbreaking to me.”
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly, identifying Alvelo as the primary suspect. Detectives revealed that Alvelo, armed with a knife, carried out the stabbing while her accomplice held the family at gunpoint.
Alvelo was arrested the following day and is currently being held without bond at the Osceola County Jail. Authorities assured the public that this was an isolated incident, though the brazenness and brutality of the attack have left many shaken.
