In a shocking development that exposes the radical double standards of the so-called “Squad,” federal authorities have launched an investigation into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over allegations that she employed an illegal immigrant in her congressional office—and even went further by instructing illegal aliens on how to evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Tom Homan, former ICE director and now a Trump-appointed border czar, confirmed in an interview with conservative commentator Benny Johnson on June 30, 2025, that the Department of Justice is actively digging into these serious allegations. The investigation centers on reports that a criminal alien working for AOC fled the country as authorities closed in—a stunning revelation given the sensitive nature of congressional work and the national security implications.
Johnson, addressing Homan, highlighted two troubling issues: “First, the fact that AOC had a criminal alien on her congressional staff who fled as soon as you regained your position as Border Czar. How is it possible that someone who is unlawfully present in the country—and a criminal at that—was allowed to work in Congress, with access to classified and sensitive information?”
The second controversy raised was just as troubling: “AOC and some of her colleagues in the Squad have publicly taught illegal aliens how to avoid ICE raids, essentially encouraging people to break federal law.” Johnson pressed Homan to explain how such blatant violations could be tolerated in the heart of American government.
Homan did not mince words. “It’s not possible,” he said plainly, referring to the employment of an illegal immigrant in Congress. “I’m aware of the investigation, but I can’t comment beyond that. We’ve asked ICE to drill down on this case.” He went on to address the alarming practice of publicly instructing illegal aliens on how to evade arrest, calling it not a constitutional right but a criminal act.
“There’s a federal statute that makes it a crime to knowingly hinder your removal from the United States,” Homan explained. “If a federal judge orders removal, and you take steps to avoid it—whether that’s refusing to cooperate or ignoring travel documents—that’s a crime.”
The border czar made it clear that ICE has been directed to step up prosecutions against those who take such steps, sending a stark warning to anyone who follows AOC’s advice: “You’ll be prosecuted.”
Homan concluded with a cutting rebuke, “She can claim she’s educating people about their constitutional rights, but in reality, she’s educating many on how to commit federal crimes—and those people will face consequences.”
This scandal exposes the brazen hypocrisy of radical left lawmakers who claim to champion the rule of law while actively undermining it. The idea that a sitting member of Congress would knowingly employ an illegal immigrant—potentially putting classified information at risk—is not just reckless; it’s dangerous.
Moreover, AOC’s public guidance on evading law enforcement amounts to aiding and abetting illegal activity. While conservatives call for border security and respect for the law, AOC and her allies continue to promote lawlessness under the guise of compassion.
The investigation into AOC should send a clear message: no one, not even a high-profile congresswoman, is above the law. The American people deserve leaders who uphold their oaths, respect the rule of law, and protect the sovereignty and security of the nation—not those who facilitate illegal conduct and put our country at risk.
As this case unfolds, conservatives will be watching closely to see whether justice is served or if the left’s political elite continue to enjoy a dangerous double standard at America’s expense.
