As Immigration and Customs Enforcement ramps up long-overdue enforcement operations to restore order at the border and inside the country, Democrats are once again showing exactly where they stand—not with law-abiding Americans, but with open borders activists and political theater. The latest meltdown comes courtesy of Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), a longtime far-left fixture in Congress who took to social media in a rage after reports surfaced about her position on ICE funding.

ICE agents across the country are executing large-scale raids to detain and deport illegal immigrants who entered the United States unlawfully—many years ago under lax enforcement policies championed by Democrats. These operations are finally delivering what voters demanded: consequences for illegal entry and a federal government serious about sovereignty. Predictably, Democrats are “going ballistic.”

Few did so more theatrically than DeLauro, who erupted in a video posted to X after a viral account reported that she would not commit to reducing ICE funding. The post, shared by the widely followed “NewsWire” account, featured DeLauro’s image and stated: “Top House Democratic appropriator Rosa DeLauro will not commit to reducing ICE funding.”

That was apparently enough to trigger a public tantrum.

In a quote-tweet accompanied by a video, DeLauro angrily fired back: “I will repeat myself — I do not support an increase in funding for ICE.” From there, the Connecticut Democrat launched into a heated rant accusing others of “bad faith reporting,” while carefully avoiding any clear statement about whether she supports cutting ICE’s budget altogether.

“There has been some bad faith reporting on Twitter, and I am going to set the record straight,” DeLauro fumed. “I do not support an increase in ICE funding.” She then repeated the line again—twice more—apparently hoping repetition would substitute for clarity.

Notably absent from her tirade was any acknowledgment of the reality on the ground: ICE agents are enforcing federal law, targeting illegal immigrants, and doing the job Congress authorized them to do. Instead, DeLauro pivoted to attacking President Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which included $75 billion for ICE and border enforcement—funding she proudly voted against.

“I am looking for policy riders in the Homeland Security bill to be able to rein in ICE,” she said, confirming what many already suspected: Democrats aren’t just opposed to increased enforcement—they want to kneecap it entirely.

DeLauro then crossed the line into outright demonization, accusing ICE agents of “terrorizing” communities and demanding that “masked, armed ICE agents” leave American towns. The irony was rich: federal agents wear masks precisely because radical activists—often egged on by politicians like DeLauro—have harassed, threatened, and even assaulted them and their families.

She concluded by labeling the Trump administration “lawless,” a familiar accusation from a party that spent years ignoring immigration law altogether. While DeLauro claims she’s “fighting for you,” her words and actions tell a different story—one that puts illegal immigrants ahead of citizens and political posturing ahead of public safety.

As ICE works to reclaim America’s borders and enforce the rule of law, Democrats like Rosa DeLauro are making it clear they would rather rant on social media than stand with the men and women protecting this country. For voters fed up with chaos, that contrast couldn’t be clearer.
