Tragically, on Saturday evening a 5-year-old girl was slain by gunfire while she sat in the backseat of her parents’ car heading to an intimate family gathering.

Eliyanah Crisostomo’s life was tragically cut short when her family was traveling along Interstate 880 in Fremont, California – as the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

At 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, Eliyanah – just shy of her sixth birthday by two weeks- was transported to the hospital via ambulance and pronounced dead shortly afterwards. No one has been identified as a suspect in this tragedy yet.

The family eagerly drove to Outback Steakhouse in Milpitas, California for a memorable birthday dinner.

“She passed away within 30 seconds of the incident,” a GoFundMe set up to support the family read.

“Eliyanah was a fun-loving little girl who loved life, had a giving heart, close with her three siblings, especially her brother who were 11 months apart,” the page stated.

“Both were so excited for Easter before the family was torn to pieces by this tragic event. Eliyanah would have been 6 on the 21st of April.”
