In a bold stand against the radical left’s agenda, three former University of Pennsylvania women’s swimmers have filed a lawsuit demanding justice for the women who were forced to compete against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas. The lawsuit seeks to have Thomas’ records erased and exposes the emotional trauma these female athletes endured as their school prioritized political correctness over fairness.

The lawsuit, filed by UPenn alumnae Grace Estabrook, Margot Kaczorowski, and Ellen Holmquist, details how they were subjected to intimidation, harassment, and a blatant disregard for their rights under Title IX. Their case comes just a day before President Donald Trump signed an executive order banning biological men from competing in women’s sports—finally restoring fairness in athletics.

According to the lawsuit, the swimmers’ own university, along with Harvard, the NCAA, and the Ivy League Council of Presidents, not only allowed Thomas to compete on the women’s team but actively suppressed any opposition. The school’s administrators allegedly dismissed their concerns, telling them that if they had any issues with a male athlete dominating their sport, they should seek counseling. Rather than protecting these women, the university pushed them toward the LGBTQ center for “re-education” sessions like the so-called “Trans 101” talk, where they were made to feel that acknowledging biological reality was a form of bigotry.

The former swimmers allege that they were warned not to speak out about the injustice of Thomas’ inclusion or they would be labeled transphobic, risking their future careers. This culture of fear and forced silence demonstrates just how deeply the left has infiltrated academia, demanding submission to their ideological agenda at the expense of women’s rights.

Thomas, a biological male who competed on the UPenn men’s team from 2017 to 2020, was introduced as a women’s team member in 2019. By 2022, Thomas shattered records in the 500-, 200-, and 100-yard freestyle races, stealing championship titles from female athletes who had trained their entire lives for these opportunities. The lawsuit rightfully seeks to have these records expunged, arguing that Thomas was never eligible to compete in the first place.

But the injustice didn’t stop at unfair competition—these young women also had their privacy and dignity violated. Initially assured they wouldn’t be forced to share a locker room with Thomas, they were later blindsided by a policy change that permitted Thomas to undress alongside them. Kaczorowski, one of the plaintiffs, described the shock of walking into the locker room to find Thomas changing in front of her. When she confronted her coach about the blatant violation of their privacy, his response was chilling: “I know it’s wrong, but there’s nothing I can do.”

The cowardice of the NCAA, Ivy League, and UPenn’s leadership in the face of woke activism has cost female athletes their dignity, opportunities, and fair competition. This lawsuit represents a crucial pushback against the radical gender ideology that has infiltrated women’s sports and threatens the very essence of Title IX, a law meant to protect women—not erase them.

Thankfully, President Trump has stepped in where these institutions failed. His executive order, signed on February 5, ensures that women’s sports remain exclusively for biological women. Schools that defy this order risk losing federal funding—a long-overdue consequence for institutions that trample on female athletes’ rights in the name of political correctness.

“From now on, women’s sports will be only for women,” Trump declared, sending a clear message that America will not stand for the erasure of women’s hard-earned athletic achievements.

This lawsuit is more than just a fight for three former swimmers—it’s a battle for all female athletes who deserve a level playing field. The question now is whether the courts will uphold fairness or continue to cave to leftist ideology. The nation is watching.
