Harvard University—the once-prestigious Ivy League institution now better known for coddling radicals and ignoring anti-Semitism—is finally feeling the sting of accountability. After years of unchecked wokeness and discrimination, the Trump administration followed through on its promises and slashed a staggering \$3 billion in federal funding to the embattled university.
Now, Harvard President Alan Garber has announced a 15% pay cut, a move critics are calling too little, too late. It’s not just a salary issue—it’s a symptom of a deeper rot inside the institution that’s spent years prioritizing identity politics and DEI bureaucracy over academic excellence and student safety.
The funding cuts are part of President Trump’s broader effort to restore integrity to higher education and stop funneling taxpayer dollars into institutions that refuse to uphold basic American values. The administration’s Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism called out Harvard directly, stating in a scathing May 13 letter that the school has “repeatedly failed to confront the pervasive racial discrimination and anti-Semitic harassment plaguing its campus.”
“Harvard’s campus, once a symbol of academic prestige, has become a breeding ground for virtue signaling and discrimination,” the letter continued. “Institutional leaders have forfeited the school’s claim to taxpayer support.”
And they’re right. Under Garber’s leadership, Harvard has allowed pro-Hamas sympathizers to run wild, intimidating Jewish students and silencing dissent. The administration stood by as their leafy campus turned into a soapbox for radical anti-Israel rhetoric, prompting even Democrat Senator John Fetterman — no conservative firebrand—to blast the school for platforming a speaker who minimized the October 7th Hamas atrocities.
“I am truly appalled,” Fetterman said, calling the speaker’s invitation “unacceptable” and noting that Harvard has become unrecognizable from the school he once attended.
President Trump has not minced words either. Back in April, he hammered Harvard on Truth Social:
“Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’ who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so-called ‘future leaders.’”
And the former president didn’t stop there:
“Look just to the recent past at their plagiarizing President, who so greatly embarrassed Harvard before the United States Congress. Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds.”
Conservatives across the country cheered the funding cuts, seeing them as long-overdue consequences for a university that’s turned its back on merit and morality. The truth is, Garber’s pay cut—like the feigned outrage from Harvard’s faculty—is just theater. This is the same school that blew billions on DEI initiatives, fought to maintain race-based admissions even after the Supreme Court struck them down, and silenced Jewish voices in favor of leftist ideology.
