Tragically, three individuals, including four-year-old Taylor Bishop perished in a horrifying collision between an airplane, and a car in Miami. Even more appalling was that the fatal incident was filmed by somebody’s doorbell camera system. The airplane dropped from the air just moments after takeoff on Monday morning and slammed into a residential neighborhood below.
The Beechcraft Bonanza took off from the North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, Florida at around 3 pm. Located about twenty miles away from Miami’s City center, it soon tragically crashed down into a densely populated residential neighborhood – leaving much more destruction than initially anticipated by local law enforcement.
“Anytime anybody dies, it’s a tragedy that’s horrible,” stated Broward County Mayor Steve Geller. “When you have a child that dies, it’s unimaginable, and our prayers are going out to the family of the child.”
The horror of the crash was vividly captured by a resident’s doorbell camera. It shows the plane plummeting from the heavens straight into a car driving along the road, skidding down it and erupting in an inferno that engulfed much of the street with its flames.
Tragically, two people lost their lives in the crash. When viewing footage of the incident, one can see just how catastrophic it was; seemingly out of nowhere, the plane plummeted from the sky like a rock and collided with an unsuspecting car driving on the road before skidding off into grasslands as flames blossomed outward like a solar flare.
Resident Annabelle Fernandez, who was in the vicinity when tragedy befell their neighborhood, recounted to NBC Miami what it felt like witnessing a plane fall from the sky and become incinerated after impacting the road. With terror coursing through her veins, she watched helplessly as flames engulfed what once used to be a mode of transportation.
“We heard a tremendous noise, and we went out, and everybody was on fire, everything was bad,” Fernandez stated. “It got to the car. It was a mother with her kid, and we don’t know what happened to them. The fire rescue came, and they got them.”
As the aftermath of the crash unfolded, both the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board declared that an investigation was warranted to determine what may have caused it.
Tragically, Taylor Bishop was killed when a plane suddenly plummeted from the sky and collided with his parent’s car. His mother Megan had no time to react before the impact of the aircraft smashed into her vehicle. It is truly devastating that she could not avoid such an unexpected occurrence on what should have been an ordinary drive.
Tragically, the Broward County Medical Examiner confirmed Taylor Bishop’s death after he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite doctors’ best efforts, they were unable to reverse his untimely demise due to his injuries from the incident.
“Taylor was just her little compadre,” Anna Fusco, President of the Broward Teachers Union, informed The Miami Herald about Ki Ki – a woman who is believed to be the boy’s mother. “They were two peas in a pod. Every kid in the school is going to be upset that Ki Ki is going to be away for a while. She just lit it up.”
