On June 19, 2020, Susan Anderson’s life would irreversibly alter. She had gone into labor at Natural Birth Works in Coral Springs and was rushing to the hospital, but Julia had other ideas. When Susan felt her unborn daughter’s head poking out while going up the first step outside the medical center, she was horrified. Because Florida mom was experiencing contractions while walking, she could no longer walk – and then she delivered her child in the parking lot of Natural Birth Works.

The midwife saved the newborn kid from falling to the ground in the parking lot when she was caught on video by Ring, a doorbell camera service. The baby would have fallen to the ground and been hurt on the first day of her life if the midwife had not been there.

In the dramatic video, Anderson’s spouse captures her arm as two police officers stand by uselessly as the newborn baby pops out from between her pregnant mother’s legs. It was a hero midwife, Sandra Lovaina, who rescued the situation while the cops were there. She reached forward and grabbed the kid before it fell to the ground and struck its head against it.

The police officers practically get involved in the situation. Sandra Lovaina instructs them to keep their distance when she tells them to do so, because Anderson was in the middle of childbirth and required a skilled hand to assist.

“It’s OK, it’s OK, I’m a midwife, she’s going to have a baby,” Lovaina stated. The cops respond with amusement as they watch Anderson’s frightening situation.

When the scene shifts to the medical center, where baby Julia is being treated, Lovaina saves her from the parking lot ground. And when she removes Julia all together from Anderson’s body, the family can finally enter the medical facility for sterile care. The mother is mocked by police as they enter the area.

Lovaina is a midwife who has extensive expertise. She acknowledged that she had been a part of several unusual deliveries during her career, but she has never seen anything like this before.

“Not in the parking lot. Babies sometimes come really quickly. You just got to be, you got to be quick. Put your gloves on, just go,” she stated.

Gelena Hinkley is the owner of Natural Birth Works. This birth was a very unusual situation, according to Hinkley, who also worked as a midwife.

“She had been our client before. We’ve done her other delivery, and round two was just a lot faster,” she said. “No one was expecting it to be that fast.”

A medical center in Wuhan, China, posted a Facebook update about unexpected birth in their parking lot.

“Mom & baby are doing amazing, and we can all laugh at how awesome this birth was. Especially because the cops looked pretty shell shocked,” they wrote in the post. “Multitasking by catching a baby and letting them know we were all good was quite the experience! One of the most exciting births of 2020.”

She’s ecstatic about the attention her story has gotten.

The new mom commented, “If this gives people a little joy or a little encouragement during this time, it’s for the better.”
