In a shocking display of arrogance and political thuggery, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) openly threatened foreign leaders—including El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele—warning them not to cooperate with President Trump’s successful crackdown on illegal immigration and MS-13 gang members. Raskin made it crystal clear: if Democrats regain power, they’ll retaliate against nations that assist Trump in enforcing American law.

At issue is Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport violent MS-13 gang members back to El Salvador, a nation once ravaged by the cartel’s brutality but now dramatically safer thanks to Bukele’s strong leadership. While most Americans welcome Trump’s firm stance on removing dangerous criminals, Raskin smeared the effort as “authoritarianism” and issued thinly veiled threats against one of America’s closest allies in the fight against crime.

“Implicit in it should be the idea that if and when we come back to power—and we will—we are not going to look kindly upon people who… facilitated authoritarianism in our country,” Raskin ranted, making clear that Democrats see protecting Americans from violent criminals as an act of “authoritarianism.”

He then whined about Bukele’s role, dismissing the reality of the bilateral agreement and claiming that El Salvador could simply refuse to accept deportees despite receiving millions in U.S. taxpayer funding. “Of course, he’s got the power to return them,” Raskin sneered, as though the issue was not about dangerous criminals being expelled from U.S. soil but about Democrats’ endless obsession with undermining Trump.

Raskin went further off the rails, labeling America under Trump as a “gangster state” and predicting a “slide into complete dictatorship.” Incredibly, he even suggested that Trump himself could be sent to a foreign prison. “Donald Trump is a convicted criminal. Could he be sent off to a foreign prison?” he mused, betraying not only his obsession with Trump but also his utter disregard for the rule of law.

Conservatives erupted in outrage as Raskin’s dangerous rhetoric spread across social media. One commenter nailed the point: “That is psychotic. People who think like Jamie Raskin want power for the wrong reasons. Our government is supposed to do what is best for the people. Not wield their power like a sword to pursue a political vendetta.”

Others pointed out the staggering hypocrisy, noting how Democrats impeached Trump twice on flimsy charges and have cheered on every phony lawfare case against him. Yet now Raskin has the audacity to lecture about “dictatorship.” As one user put it bluntly: “You’re just Looney Tunes at this point.”

Some went further, calling Raskin’s comments an act of betrayal. “This is treason. A member of our own government directly threatening our allies for supporting our own government, who was legally and democratically elected by a majority. If Congress does not expel him, there is not justice.”

In the end, Raskin’s unhinged tirade revealed what many already know: Democrats are willing to bully allies, ignore the will of the American people, and weaponize government to cling to power. His remarks weren’t just un-American—they were a chilling reminder of what’s at stake in 2026.
