Horror struck when a Russian couple decided to take the advice of their lifestyle trainer and starve their toddler, son, by denying him food, water, and other basic necessities in order to “feed on sunlight”. Unfortunately, this resulted in prolonged malnutrition leading them eventually kill the baby boy.
Oxana Mironova, 33 and Maxim Lyutyi, 43 were recently apprehended for suspicion of child torture after the death of their infant. Unsurprisingly, those close to the couple had already been aware that Maxim was imposing a strict lifestyle upon Oxana which included only consuming sunlight as sustenance. As news broke out about the baby’s demise, extended family members grieved his passing and recognized that justice would need to prevail against its parents’ wrongdoings.
“He wanted to experiment on the child, feed him purely with the sun, and then advertise it to others that this is how you can eat,” stated Oxana’s mother, Galina. The grandmother claims that Maxim is attempting to build an authoritarian-like “sect” with extreme dietary regulations.
Oxana’s mom added, “I was against my daughter being in this sect. I felt everything and told her that Maxim was crazy, but she didn’t listen to me. Oxana lived there like a guinea pig. Each time she became colder to me…. She was his slave.”
From the moment of his birth, Maxim tried to stop Oxana from breastfeeding her baby boy. Nonetheless, she would find opportunities when alone with the child to provide him nourishment and sustenance in secret. Despite this, Maxim still viewed the infant as an experiment for which he wanted sunlight rather than any form of nutrition or hydration to be responsible for its energy and growth.
Oxana’s mother continued, “He forbade her to feed the child. Oxana told me that she secretly fed the baby, but she didn’t have enough money because he didn’t give her any. I sent Oxana money for food from my pension. She secretly bought baby food.”
Both Oxana and Maxim have been arrested, with Oxana receiving a special privilege of being allowed to remain under house arrest. She has been charged with negligence while Maxim is being investigated for “child torture.” Despite this, he still holds her accountable for the baby’s neglect.
Maxim has gained notoriety as a passionate “radical raw food fanatic” in Russia.
“I always believed he ran a sect,” stated Oxana’s mother. “It’s all his fault. It was him who forbade giving food to the child.”
A family member of the deceased baby articulated, “Oxana told me that she was afraid of him. She wanted to leave him many times, but he held her back… He wanted to raise a man who only eats the sun.”
Oxana’s cousin, Olesya Nikolayeva, stated, “He forced her not to feed the baby. Her boyfriend believed that the sun was feeding the baby. Oxana was secretly trying to breastfeed the baby, but she was very afraid of Maxim. How is it possible to feed the baby with sunlight? A baby needs his mother’s milk.”
