The New York Police Department is offering a $3,500 reward to individuals who can help the police arrest the three adolescent females who have been terrorizing an area in the Bronx. The three teenagers brandished knives and robbed two male street vendors at knifepoint on River Avenue. Vendors aged thirty-seven and thirty-eight informed cops that the attackers used racial epithets during the robberies, as well as hundreds of dollars worth of attire that they were selling in order to provide for their families.

On August 12th at 3:30 pm, three teenage girls robbed multiple street vendors in a parking lot on River Avenue and East 157th Street, which is close to Yankee Stadium.

The three robbers, who have not been identified, reportedly held the vendors at knifepoint before stealing clothes and running away. The two street vendors said that prior to the robbery, the girls ran up to them and yelled racial slurs about Mexicans.

“I don’t say nothing, I don’t do nothing,” one of the vendors said to NBC. “I’m just trying to make a living for my family.”

Another vendor said, “‘I’m working for my family. He’s working for his family. And you know, it’s very important for me and him.”

The NYPD is requesting that anyone with any information concerning the robbery or the three girls to contact them immediately. They are also urging people in the area to be vigilant and report any suspicious behavior by the three teens who remain at large. The Bronx community is worried that the trio might strike again, robbing more innocent people of their belongings.

This isn’t the first time that River Avenue has been scarred by violence. In June, four individuals were wounded on the same street a few blocks away from where the most recent assault occurred.

In an effort to put a stop to crime in the area, the NYPD has announced that they will be increasing their patrols. They are also asking people who see anything suspicious to report it immediately.

One of the merchants mentioned, “You don’t know why they do it.” The prospect that the three girls might combine to assault another person on River Avenue was raised.

If you have any knowledge regarding the heist or the three girls who committed it, you are urged to contact the NYPD. You may also report information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8077) or going to their website. Remember, if you notice anything suspicious, say something.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is now offering a $3,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the three teenage girls who held the street vendors at knifepoint during the armed robbery on August 12.
