The left loves to frame sanctuary cities as compassionate havens for immigrants. But Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO), a former police officer and rising star in Congress, just ripped the mask off that narrative — and what he revealed should alarm every American who cares about law and order.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Rep. Evans slammed sanctuary city policies for what they really are: an open invitation for violent illegal alien criminals to infiltrate and victimize communities — including the very Hispanic neighborhoods Democrats claim to be protecting.

Evans didn’t mince words. “We’re talking guns and drugs and human trafficking and child abuse … these are the people that have been festering in our society under the sanctuary state policies in Colorado,” he warned. And he’s not speaking in hypotheticals. His district recently witnessed a major DEA-led raid that apprehended over 40 members of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang — a brutal Venezuelan criminal organization that’s quickly spreading across the U.S.

This isn’t about legal immigrants. It’s about dangerous criminals exploiting the Biden administration’s weakness and progressive policies that prioritize ideology over public safety.

And contrary to what the media tells us, Rep. Evans says his Hispanic constituents want these criminals gone. “I have conversations with local Hispanic business owners, with people who are major pillars of the Hispanic community… and they don’t want Tren de Aragua in their communities,” he said.

Who can blame them? One local store owner told Evans he’s been robbed weekly — even daily — by illegal immigrants. Thousands of dollars in merchandise, gone. Repeatedly. And because of sanctuary laws, neither local nor federal authorities were willing — or able — to help.

“There was nothing that state or local law enforcement could do because they were prohibited by these sanctuary laws and the feds weren’t interested,” Evans said. “That hurts him. That hurts the Hispanic community.”

So let’s get one thing straight: Sanctuary city policies don’t protect families. They protect criminals. They don’t uplift the Hispanic community — they leave it vulnerable to the very gangs, drug runners, and predators it wants removed. And according to Rep. Evans, the people living in these communities know it.

The left has spent years trying to weaponize the Hispanic vote by pretending they all support unchecked illegal immigration. But Evans is flipping that narrative. “We don’t want drug dealers and cartels and criminals and gangbangers in our community,” he said. “This emphasis on cracking down on these criminal elements who are not only illegally present in the United States but are committing other crimes is long overdue, and there’s a lot of support for that in the Hispanic community.”

President Trump knew it. Conservatives know it. And increasingly, so do working-class Hispanic Americans who are watching their neighborhoods fall victim to lawlessness fueled by far-left ideology.

The truth is simple: Protecting American families — regardless of ethnicity — means enforcing immigration laws, dismantling sanctuary policies, and prioritizing victims over virtue-signaling.

Rep. Evans is doing just that. And he deserves every ounce of support.
