CNN’s latest attempt to manufacture controversy backfired spectacularly when Border Czar Tom Homan stood his ground during a heated February 15 interview with host Dana Bash. Refusing to play along with the media’s anti-Trump narrative, Homan delivered a masterclass in discipline, refusing to be baited into attacking New York City Mayor Eric Adams. Instead, he stayed laser-focused on border security and protecting the American people.

Bash, clearly hoping to stir up division, aggressively pressed Homan on whether the Department of Justice should reopen its investigation into Adams’ handling of immigration enforcement. But Homan didn’t take the bait. “I’m the Border Czar. I care about securing the border and removing public safety threats. Let the DOJ do their job,” he responded coolly, making it clear that he had no interest in the political games the media thrives on.

Undeterred, Bash pushed again, hoping for a sensational soundbite. But Homan remained unshaken. “My promise is I’m not asking officers to be immigration officers; I’m not going to push them to enforce immigration law. I told them I want to arrest the bad guys. I want to arrest public safety threats. I want to get to Rikers Island so we can catch public safety threats before they’re released back to the streets.”

Homan didn’t stop there. He took the opportunity to highlight an issue the media rarely acknowledges: the heartbreaking reality of human trafficking and forced labor at the hands of illegal immigration policies. “I want the NYPD Intelligence Unit, who are the finest intelligence apparatus in the world, to help me find missing children… Many are in forced labor, and many are in sex trafficking. Not all, but many. And that’s the promise I made. Do your law enforcement stuff, help me get these public safety threats, and protect the children.”

Rather than address the real issues Homan raised, Bash desperately circled back to the DOJ investigation, hoping to corner him into a political statement. But once again, Homan held firm. “That’s out of my lane, I’m a border czar. I care about the border, so let the DOJ do what they do. I care about removing public safety threats from the country, as President Trump promised the American people.”

Conservatives quickly took to social media to celebrate Homan’s refusal to be drawn into the media’s usual tactics. One user on X wrote, “Tom Homan is a machine!! I love how this administration functions as a team. They support each other, and they know their roles. It’s so damn nice. They are MSM resistant.”

Another user highlighted the media’s dwindling influence and bias: “The media still doesn’t understand the regime is done for. That USAID money stopped. They’re not getting ‘subscription’ money from the government anymore to run coverage and push their propaganda for them. They need to get back to impartially covering the news!”

At a time when the media is scrambling to regain control of the narrative, Homan’s no-nonsense approach was a refreshing reminder that the Trump administration won’t be swayed by the usual mainstream media tricks. Instead, they’re keeping their focus where it belongs: securing the border and protecting American citizens.
