If you’ve ever watched “Fixer Upper,” you’ve undoubtedly heard of Chip and Joanna Gaines. During their Fixer Upper days, the team was adored by their legions of admirers. They’ll be starting their own network shortly, all while raising five children and taking on new initiatives! Because Chip and Joanna are so sympathetic, it’s simple for viewers to fall in love with them. Chip is your typical wacky dad, while Joanna is a fun-loving yet careful mother. They may be renowned, but they did not let this to affect them. They double-check that their feet are still planted firmly on the earth. And, like many others, they did not have an easy road to success.

They were recently guests on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday series. Oprah spoke with the pair about their marriage, celebrity, and other topics. During the height of their popularity, Chip also talked up about his conflicted emotions. It was also stated their concept of prioritizing their relationship for the sake of their family. “One thing I’m very thankful for is that we met a little later in life,” Joanna said. Chip was probably one of his oldest friends to marry, and it’s like we were both married at the same time. I know that as a woman, I figured out that I wanted to be as complete as possible with everything. “How can I be complete?” you might wonder.
Joanna emphasized that she and Chip were not searching for partners to help them finish their firm. They desired partners with whom they could collaborate and flourish. And it was with each other that they discovered this. After then, Oprah discussed the transformations that a person goes through as he or she becomes famous. “I have realized that celebrity is simply, your life is the same, you’re the same, and everyone has a concept of what that is, it’s just that more people know your name,” Oprah said. And I believe that if you don’t know who you are when a celebrity comes knocking, you will lose yourself.” “Did you all start to sense that, or did you know you were grounded before the fame thing hit?” Oprah wondered.

“I want to speak on Jo’s behalf because she would never say things like this,” Chip added, “but she is so unbelievably insightful, so extremely grounded — everything you just described is who Joanna is.” Chip claimed that in the beginning, he struggled to deal with their celebrity. “For me to become famous, I lost a part of myself that was truly… it was sad,” he explained. “It took me a year or two while I was still filming to try to grapple with what exactly it was that I was losing,” he continued. Following the conclusion of Fixer Upper, the couple revealed that they took a year off from anything television-related. They were able to devote more time to other professional projects as a result of this.
