When Maverick Oyao found out that his beloved sister, Lu Asey Keanna, would not be able to wear the prom dress of her dreams, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Keanna’s family was unable to afford the cost of the exquisite graduation dance gown that Keanna wanted to wear for her high school ball. Because of their financial difficulties, Keanna accepted it as a reality that she would not receive the dress she desired and agreed to skip prom entirely.

However, Maverick Oyao was certain that he had what it took to provide his sister with a prom dress she would adore. Oyao didn’t simply want to give his sister a stunning gown for her Junior-Senior Prom; he also wanted to make sure she could attend the ball after a year of challenges due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The difficulty was that Keanna had to wear a ball gown to the prom dance. However, she and her family could not afford such an expensive outfit, which is why Oyao volunteered to show his family that he has the expertise necessary to make a lovely dress with only the finest materials and craftsmanship.

Maverick didn’t have much time to make his sister’s dress. He went straight to the fabric shop and spent about $62 on supplies for the dress he had designed. He was going to create a flowing gown that would amaze anyone who saw it.

Maverick went to a hobby shop after school and purchased all of the supplies he needed to make his sister’s wedding gown. He wanted to take inspiration from Michael Cinco, a world-famous Filipino designer.

Maverick stated, “I browsed on YouTube and Google on different types of ball dresses, especially Michael Cinco’s Spring and Summer Collection, and started conceptualizing.”

He began working on his sister’s ball gown by tackling one component at a time in order to complete it. He knew exactly how he wanted the corset to appear, so he utilized fabric paint to get the intended effect.

As the parts of the gown began to come together, he had to mock it up on a mannequin. When he did, he discovered that his efforts were already paying off. He then added features to the garment in order to give it a high-end appearance.

After he was done, sister Lu Asey Keanna tried on the dress and was astonished at how stunning she looked. The gown complemented the winter theme of the prom perfectly, making the young woman feel like a princess.

Maverick made a lovely ball gown for his beloved sister, but it was far more than that to him. He was able to do something to help his gorgeous sister realize her vision of attending the dance.

“I’ve done my part very well as your supportive kuya (big brother), and I won’t get tired of supporting you. That’s my promise. I hope I made you happy this Valentine’s Day,” he wrote on his Facebook page in relation to his sister.
