Justice is finally catching up to one of the Left’s most infamous “resistance” judges. Shelley M. Richmond Joseph, a Massachusetts judge celebrated by progressives for defying federal immigration law, is now being forced to defend herself in a misconduct hearing after allegedly helping an illegal immigrant escape U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.

Judge Joseph, who has been suspended without pay, stands accused of one of the most blatant abuses of judicial power in recent memory. In 2018, she allegedly instructed her clerk to mislead an ICE agent who was waiting to detain a twice-deported Dominican national, Jose Medina-Perez, at Newton District Court. According to investigators, Joseph even ordered the courtroom recording device turned off so the suspect could slip out a back door and evade arrest.

This wasn’t a case of misunderstanding — it was a calculated political stunt, one that put ideology above law and endangered the integrity of the judicial system.

Her attorney, however, is trying to spin her actions as heroic. “If you were to walk down the street and take a survey of the people you meet, 100% of them would tell you Judge Joseph let an illegal immigrant out the back door of the district court,” her lawyer claimed. “Fifty percent of them would say she’s a criminal and should go to jail. Fifty percent would call her a folk hero.”

A “folk hero”? To whom — the radical Left that believes immigration law should only apply when it’s politically convenient? The attorney went on to complain that media coverage had been too harsh, claiming that “the incident has become such a part of local lore in Boston” that journalists no longer bother to say “alleged.”

But for millions of Americans, this case represents something much deeper — the growing belief that too many judges, prosecutors, and politicians in Democrat-run cities care more about protecting illegal immigrants than American citizens or the rule of law.

Social media users didn’t hold back. One outraged commenter summed up the sentiment perfectly: “Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph is guilty of releasing an illegal out her back door so he could avoid ICE. Judges have to be held to a higher standard. They cannot rule based on political ideologies — they must uphold Constitutional law!”

And Joseph isn’t the only one. Across the country, other judges have been caught playing partisan politics from the bench. Florida Judge Dianna Tennis, for example, is facing public reprimand after making more than **900** illegal political donations — totaling nearly **$29,000** — to Democrat candidates and organizations.

The scandal, first exposed by *Libs of TikTok*, shocked even veteran court watchers. “EXPOSED: Florida Judge Diana Tennis made 900+ donations totaling $29K to Democrat candidates and orgs since 2016 in violation of judicial ethics,” the post read. “She needs to RESIGN.” One commenter put it more bluntly: “Resign? She should be arrested.”

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission confirmed that Tennis was “far and away the most prolific offender,” noting she had “expressed deep regret” for damaging public trust in the judiciary.

Whether it’s Judge Joseph helping a twice-deported criminal sneak past ICE, or Judge Tennis funneling money to Democrats in violation of judicial ethics, one thing is clear: America’s courts are being infiltrated by activists who treat the law as optional.

And while the Left celebrates them as “folk heroes,” ordinary Americans are left wondering — who’s protecting *our* rights when those sworn to uphold the law put their politics first?
