California Governor Gavin Newsom is once again throwing a fit—this time over federal agents doing their job. But a top Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) official isn’t having it.

Appearing on Fox News Channel’s *America’s Newsroom*, CBP El Centro Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino blasted Newsom for his hysterics after an immigration raid in Los Angeles. The operation, carried out by multiple law enforcement teams, nabbed dangerous criminals—including a suspected member of the violent Tren de Aragua gang—right near the site of a political rally Newsom was hosting to attack President Trump’s immigration policies.

Newsom, clearly rattled, accused federal authorities of deliberately targeting his event. “Right outside, at this exact moment, are dozens and dozens of ICE agents,” the Democrat governor raged during his speech. “You think it is coincidental? Donald Trump and his minions decided, coincidentally or not, that this was the location to advance ICE arrests.”

Bovino shredded that claim as nothing more than a political stunt. “Does the governor or Mayor Bass, when they have these meltdowns, these tantrums like that, do they want those individuals walking the streets?” Bovino asked. “Where’s the outrage when there are Tren de Aragua members walking with impunity on the streets of Los Angeles, or child rapists, or a whole litany of other bad criminals walking the streets of Los Angeles?”

The CBP chief emphasized that the raid was a coordinated, citywide sweep involving 40 separate law enforcement teams—not a hit job designed to embarrass the governor. “We absolutely targeted all of Los Angeles yesterday,” Bovino explained. “The time is every time. And the location is everywhere. That location’s going to be where we think we need to go, anywhere, anytime, to effectively conduct that mission.”

In other words: ICE and Border Patrol aren’t staging political theater—they’re arresting criminals that California’s “sanctuary” politicians refuse to deal with. And the fact that one of those criminals—a Tren de Aragua gangster—was operating just blocks from Newsom’s rally says everything about the failure of Democrat policies.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, now serving as Secretary of Homeland Security, echoed Bovino’s remarks in a separate Fox appearance. She underscored that operations like the Los Angeles raid are data-driven and intelligence-based. “Every single one of our ICE and border patrol operations is built on information. It’s a case and an operation that has been planned because of who they think could be in that area and what they have for information that shows that there are illegal criminals there,” Noem said.

The facts are clear: federal agents took a dangerous felon off the streets. Yet instead of thanking them for protecting Californians, Gavin Newsom melted down, playing the victim while siding with violent criminals.

This isn’t leadership—it’s lawlessness. And while Newsom throws tantrums on stage, Border Patrol and ICE continue to do the job he refuses to: keeping American families safe.
