In yet another stunning display of lawlessness from the Left, Democrat Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin is facing serious blowback after instructing state employees to stonewall federal immigration enforcement officers—whether or not they carried a lawful warrant.

The memo, which has since ignited national outrage, effectively directed government workers to obstruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Evers told state employees they should not answer questions or hand over documents without a state attorney present—even if ICE agents showed up with a legal warrant.

You read that right: the Democrat governor of a U.S. state told public employees to ignore federal immigration law and actively resist lawful deportation efforts.

But he wasn’t counting on former ICE Director Tom Homan weighing in.

During a press conference on May 1st, Homan delivered a firm warning to politicians aiding and abetting illegal immigration. When asked why sanctuary city leaders aren’t being arrested, he responded: “Wait to see what’s coming.” When pressed specifically about Evers’ directive, Homan doubled down: “If you cross that line into impede or knowingly harbor or conceal an illegal alien, that is a felony, and we will treat it as such.”

That sent the Evers camp into full-blown panic mode.

Within hours, the governor released a shaky video attempting to walk back his actions. “I haven’t broken the law,” he claimed. “I haven’t committed a crime, and I’ve never encouraged or directed anyone to break any laws.”

A sudden change of heart—or just fear of what might come next from Washington?

In classic progressive fashion, Evers tried to flip the script, accusing Republicans of “piling on” and claiming he was receiving threats. He then launched into a self-righteous tirade about “values” and “the rule of law”—a curious pivot from a man who just told government workers to ignore federal warrants.

The governor insisted he would “never be discouraged from doing the right thing,” even as public outrage grows and calls for investigation mount.

Conservative radio host Dan O’Donnell posted the leaked memo on X, formerly Twitter, on April 25 and raised an explosive question: “Just how many illegal aliens is the State of Wisconsin employing in violation of federal law?”

It’s a question that deserves an answer—and fast.

At a time when America’s southern border is under siege, crime is rising, and taxpayer resources are stretched thin, the last thing this country needs is elected officials helping illegal aliens hide from justice.

Let’s be clear: Governor Evers didn’t just thumb his nose at ICE—he thumbed it at the rule of law, at the safety of American citizens, and at the sovereignty of this nation. Thankfully, the Trump administration’s team isn’t playing around. As Tom Homan warned, “Wait to see what’s coming.”

It’s about time we remind rogue governors that no one is above the law—not even progressive darlings in blue-state capitals.
