Self-proclaimed “progressive” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) faced a brutal reality check when angry constituents confronted her at a town hall, calling out what many now see as her complete sellout to the D.C. war machine. The viral footage, which resurfaced from a 2022 event, shows fed-up New Yorkers publicly rebuking AOC for backing endless military aid to Ukraine—funding that threatens to drag America into a catastrophic global conflict.
Once hailed as the fresh face of the radical left, AOC is now being accused of betraying the very anti-war values that got her elected. Her support for arming Ukraine has enraged her grassroots base, who are warning of the real risk of a nuclear war with Russia or China as America continues to funnel billions into a foreign conflict with no clear endgame.
“Congresswoman, none of this matters if there’s a nuclear war!” one protester shouted during the tense exchange, blasting Ocasio-Cortez for voting to send weapons to Ukraine. “You voted to send arms and weapons to Ukraine. Unlike AOC, Gabbard took a bold stand against the military-industrial complex—an act that earned her bipartisan respect and a seat in President Trump’s second-term administration. Meanwhile, AOC’s alignment with the Biden White House’s hawkish foreign policy has revealed just how far she’s drifted from her so-called progressive roots.
“You’ve shown cowardice!” another furious protester declared. “Tulsi Gabbard has shown guts. I believed in you, and you became the very thing you sought to fight against!”
The crowd didn’t hold back. “You ran as an outsider, yet you’re voting to start a third nuclear war with Russia and China,” a man yelled. “Why are you playing with the lives of American citizens?”
