One day in 2013, Roslyn Singleton started to notice some odd symptoms. Not only did she get migraines and have blurry vision, but sometimes when she would lay down to sleep, She could hear the ocean. It was as if she was holding a seashell up to her ear.

At first, Roslyn disregarded the flu-like symptoms she was feeling. But eventually, her father convinced her to go see a doctor. Upon receiving her diagnosis of stage 3 brain cancer, she learned that there was a tumor the size of an orange on her brain.

Thankfully, Roslyn’s surgery was successful and the tumor could be removed. She quickly went into remission and for years after, cancer stayed away.

Six years after her initial diagnosis and routine checkups, doctors discovered that the cancer had returned. The tumor was about the size of a half dollar. Roslyn had surgery to remove it for the second time.

Roslyn’s husband, Ray Singleton, created a social media video describing her battle in a sentimental, romantic way.

Ray originally made the video for his wife with the intention of seeing her smile; however, it ended up capturing Ellen DeGeneres’ attention instead. When Ray got a phone call from Burbank, California, both he and Roslyn were shocked. They were invited to be guests on The Ellen Show, and they appeared on an episode that aired the day before Valentine’s Day in 2020.

In 2021, a year later, both Ray and Roselyn appeared on TV again. However, this time around Ray was a contestant season 16 of “America’s Got Talent.” Additionally, his fellow co-star Roselyn made an appearance on the show as well.

The Singletons received some unfortunate news- Roselyn’s cancer had returned. Ray remained positive on Instagram after announcing his wife’s death, just like they did throughout her cancer battle. He wrote in the caption, “Our wife earned her wings yesterday while peacefully sleeping right at home where she wanted to be.”

Ray noted in the post that though the future will be “INCREDIBLY long & difficult,” it’s something we’re all working towards and there’s no need to be upset about it.
