On Wednesday, the news of his wife’s death rocked “Dukes of Hazard” star John Schneider to his core. He took to social media to pay tribute and honor her memory, lovingly referring to Alicia Allain as his ‘Smile.’ She was 53 years old at the time of her passing.
In Schneider’s heart-wrenching post about his wife’s demise, he posted two pictures – one of Allain and another displaying the beautiful moment when Schneider held her hand in his. Schneider posted, “My beautiful Smile is pain-free, living in her new body alongside Jesus.” He asked for fans to “respect our privacy” and to share “any pictures of us and our obvious love and adoration for each other.” He concluded the post by asking fans to “hug those you love tight and let them know how you feel.”
Just twenty-four hours later, Schneider chose to share another post honoring his late wife. The image captured seemed to be taken during the holiday season as there was a Christmas tree in the background; Allain is sitting on a chair while her husband stands close beside her, with tenderly placing his head atop hers.
He wrote, “This is a time of unimaginable sorrow for me. Grief is much too small a word.”
Schneider labeled Allain as his inspiration and motivation to pursue all of his aspirations. He said that she was “The very fabric of my soul. The glue that held me together.” He added, “I miss her more than any words could possibly describe. Pain is too small a word. Grief is too small a word. Love itself is too small a word.”
He seized the chance to request prayer and implored that if anyone has the occasion of meeting him in person, not to inquire about his current condition. He answered that he will be feeling “broken” during this period and doesn’t want to discuss it right now.
As of yet, the public has not been apprised of Allain’s cause of death. However, back in 2020, she and her partner revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer.
