Notoriety and acclaim surround adult film star Riley Reid, 31 – yet even she has faced the daunting challenge of finding a partner who truly accepts her career choice. This particular issue was highlighted when one of her ex-boyfriends made it clear that he felt “disgusting” about Reid’s work as a sex worker. In this regard, most men whom she encountered outside of porn were not accepting or understanding of what their relationship entailed on screen.
Even with a multitude of challenges in finding the right partner, Riley Reid persevered and eventually found her soulmate. The Californian adult performer whose birth name is Ashley Matthews wed free runner Pasha Petkuns (pictured below) in 2021. Now happily married, they are raising their daughter together.
On an episode of the Impaulsive podcast, a porn star revealed her difficulty in forging genuine connections with others due to her occupation. She divulged that one of her former partners would refuse to kiss her after she returned home from shooting scenes – including those involving oral sex – for other men.
During the 2018 episode, the sizzling young porn star said: “He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff. So, like, [it] made me feel like a disgusting person. And I’m not disgusting. It’s harsh. It was so horrible when he told me that.”
According to Unilad’s earlier study, Reid’s former beau made her so miserable about being a porn star that she thought of giving up the job entirely. Last year, Reid discussed further on that matter, expressing: “My ex was so anti-porn, I almost quit porn because I thought I hated porn, but then I realized I just hated him.”
In 2021, Riley Reid took to Instagram and candidly revealed her challenges in finding a loving partner. Despite being an iconic porn star, it was difficult for her to discover someone who could respect and adore her beyond labels. After a prolonged search, she eventually found the right man that recognized the person behind the profession.
She said: “Never have I ever had a boyfriend who was proud of my job. I’ve had two ‘normal’ boyfriends in my adult life, the normal being they don’t do porn. Both of which ended in an ultimatum, porn or them. I always chose porn. I’ve struggled with the choice, though, wondering if I’ve made the right decision.”
In 2021, Reid was finally blessed to come across a man who embraced her for who she is. She married him and now shares in the joy of being a mother to sweet Emma, their 6-month-old daughter.
On November 2022, Riley Reid posted a snapshot of her and her family with an accompanying caption that read: “Forever thankful for my newly founded family.
