Most people know something about the neighbors on either side of a house. The neighbors could actually be friends. The neighbors might be a nuisance that you must deal with on a regular basis. Some families just know neighbors because a certain routine is seen from one day to the next. It is when something irregular happens that many homeowners begin to get concerned about neighbors regardless of the state of the relationship. This is what happened recently in Tennessee.
Anthony and Andrew Johnson were twins who lived together in Chattanooga. They were 63 years old. The pair lived in a modest home and kept mostly to themselves. They did not talk to neighbors and spent most of their days indoors. Neighbors were able to see the twins occasionally wearing surgical masks while mowing the grass outside the home. It seems the twins did not really want anything to do with anyone. This is not surprising considering the neighborhood was not exactly friendly. Things changed around 2011. The neighbors no longer saw the twins. The sister of the men tried to get police to check on them in 2011. The police did nothing. It was not until later in the year when another relative managed to get a key to the house that the mystery was solved.
The relative entered the home to find the two almost skeletal bodies of Anthony and Andrew seated comfortably in recliners. They appeared to have died in 2011 since there was a receipt nearby from that date. Oddly, neighbors did not think anything was wrong because the grass was still being cut and the mailbox emptied. The exact cause of death is not known although the twins were severe diabetics.
