Policing involves quite a significant amount of worry, having to handle traffic offenders, petty thieves, and loads more.
All these are certainly not as simple as people presume or as some movies depict them, it takes a more than just usual level of calmness and self-control to be ready to go above and beyond after conducting one’s basic duties as a cop.
A massive amount of the general public are quick to vilify the police, well there is evidence all around the web of the gross misconduct of a number of these officers, ranging from documents to videos, to images and the likes– confirming their claims.
This is not to say that their kind deeds should go unheard of, actually, they ought to be talked about as much (if not more) as their ‘not so kind’ acts.
This is why, I imagine, more police officers are making it a point of commitment to go over and above the day-to-day duty of police officers and help fix the ill status of the force. Amongst such kind deeds that must not be swept underneath the carpet is how a policeman went from law enforcing to vehicle repairing in a matter of seconds.
Chy-Niece was driving to an interview when she was pulled over by a police officer. The thought of other people who have been abused by cops most likely crossed her mind but the job interview which was at stake would have been of prime concern to her. The officer who pulled Chy-Niece over stepped out of his patrol car went up to hers.
After a nice greeting, he told Chy-Niece that both of her car’s break lights were out of place. That definitely would have come to her as a rude surprise considering that she just recently got them corrected at an abnormally high amount, even worse still; the offense attracted a substantial fine.
Officer Jenkins reaction melted Chy-Niece’s heart, relaying the incident, she said;
” So this happened just now. I’m on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled [over] Both brake lights decided to go out this time.”
As he walked to the car and I was pulling out my stuff, he quickly said, “Don’t pull anything out. I just want you to know that your brake lights are out.”
She explained to the officer that she just got the lights repaired around a month ago at an exorbitant price (at Firestone).
Firestone billed her $600 to correct the tail lights.
” He looked at me like he knew it was crazy and he told me to pop the trunk” she said.
She further added “He checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn’t come on. So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to step out to check the other one.
He could have quite easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of his role as an Officer and into that of an auto mechanic to ensure I was good to go”
To Officer Jenkins it was welfare first, any time, any day.
She most likely arrived at the interview too late or maybe missed out on it outright but it was entirely worth it because she may have encountered an officer who might have given her a ticket.
Officer Jenkins rescued the day!
