Miley Cyrus is no stranger to causing a stir with her performances. Whether it’s twerking at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2015 or straddling naked atop a wrecking ball for a video of the same name, she does attract attention, both positive and negative, with everything she does.
This time, however, she may have crossed a line, at least when it comes to those who celebrate Christmas. At the Jingle Ball held in Los Angeles, Cyrus appeared in a scantily clad red outfit complete with an elf’s hat to perform her song “Get it Right” with Santa Claus. Cyrus got up close and personal with Santa as her performance included not only her famed twerking, but grinding against Old St. Nick. It didn’t end there. Cyrus also twerked and grinded with Santa’s reindeer on stage.
The Jingle Ball is another in a long list of controversial performances and antics by the former star of Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana.” In 2009, Cyrus performed on a stipper pole at the Teen Choice Awards.
In 2010, she was caught on video smoking a bong at a party, then the next year commented, “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake. You know you smoke way too much f**king weed!” As if to prove the point, she lit up a joint during her acceptance speech at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2013.
