In a bombshell revelation that confirms everything conservatives have been saying for years about welfare abuse, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced that a sweeping audit of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has uncovered staggering levels of fraud—fraud Democrats have spent years pretending doesn’t exist.
Appearing on *Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight*, Rollins laid out the numbers from 29 states—nearly all red—and the findings are worse than anyone imagined. According to Rollins, roughly **186,000 dead people** are still receiving SNAP benefits. Initially, the USDA believed the number was about 5,000. That was *one month*. The real figure is nearly forty times higher.
And that’s just the beginning.
Rollins revealed that **another 500,000 individuals are receiving duplicate benefits**, collecting taxpayer-funded assistance two times over. One person, she noted, was caught receiving SNAP in **six different states**.
All of this has been found *without* cooperation from deep-blue strongholds like California, New York, and Illinois—which, based on what’s already been discovered, are likely sitting on an avalanche of fraud of their own.
Rollins made it clear that once those states finally hand over their data, “we’re going to find things even worse.”
Democrats know it—which is why they’ve been dragging their feet and hiding the records.
Rollins told Schmitt that the depth of corruption in SNAP is “so bloated, so broken, so dysfunctional, so corrupt that it is astonishing when you dig in.” And digging is exactly what the Trump administration is doing.
The goal? A complete overhaul.
Rollins laid out the administration’s next move: requiring *every* SNAP recipient in the country to reapply and verify their eligibility from scratch. Not a blanket benefit. Not rubber-stamped approvals. Real verification for the first time in decades.
This could be the most significant cleanup of the welfare system in modern history.
“We want to make sure that everyone taking a taxpayer-funded benefit literally cannot survive without it,” Rollins said. “That’s the next step.”
She also exposed what has become painfully obvious: Democrats are refusing to cooperate because they’re not protecting vulnerable Americans—they’re protecting illegal immigrants and the fraudulent systems that keep them on the voter rolls through population-based congressional apportionment.
“The Democrat Party has built its entire strategy around protecting illegal aliens,” Rollins told NPR in an earlier interview. “If the handouts stop, those illegals will go back home, and Democrats will lose 20+ seats after the next census.”
In other words, fraud isn’t a flaw in the Democrat-run welfare system. It’s the *point*.
Under President Trump, the USDA has already removed nearly 700,000 improper SNAP recipients, arrested more than 118 individuals for fraud, and uncovered thousands of cases of EBT abuse.
