The woke Left is at it again — this time in Idaho, of all places. Boise’s far-left mayor, Lauren McLean, is now attempting to officially designate the Pride flag as the city’s flag in a desperate maneuver to sidestep state law and force progressive symbolism onto city buildings.

Conservatives across the country — and especially in red-state Idaho — are sounding the alarm. What’s unfolding in Boise is yet another blatant example of Democrats trying to bulldoze over commonsense laws and drag leftist ideology into every corner of American life, even in places where voters have loudly rejected it.

At the center of the controversy is House Bill 86, a state law that restricts government buildings to flying only federal, state, and local government flags — a straightforward, reasonable measure intended to keep taxpayer-funded spaces neutral and focused on the public good. But neutrality is the last thing the Left wants.

Instead of respecting the law, Boise’s Democrat mayor decided to play games. Rather than taking down the Pride flag, as the law requires, McLean concocted a scheme: make the Pride flag the “official” city flag — a move that would effectively legalize flying it year-round under false pretenses.

Conservative watchdog Libs of TikTok exposed the story on May 2, writing,

“🚨NEW: The Boise City Council is reportedly considering a resolution to make the Pride Flag an ‘official’ city flag to circumvent Idaho state law… Democrats are desperate to promote LGBTQ propaganda to your children.”

Along with the post, Libs of TikTok shared a letter from Mayor McLean, dripping with left-wing defiance and self-righteousness. In the letter, McLean whined that HB 86 was “hostile to Boise” and that enforcing the law was somehow an “attack” on the LGBTQ+ community — as if asking city buildings to fly American and Idaho flags is some kind of hate crime.

“I am prepared to fight with every tool I have,” McLean dramatically concluded, vowing to ignore the law and battle the Idaho Attorney General’s office. That’s right — the mayor of a U.S. city is threatening legal warfare against her own state government just to keep flying a political symbol.

She even claimed she felt “threatened” by the Attorney General for trying to uphold state law — conveniently painting herself as a victim while trampling over Idahoans who believe in traditional values, legal order, and a government that serves everyone, not just a favored activist class.

This isn’t just about a flag. It’s about whether America’s laws will mean anything — or whether woke officials will continue bending them to suit their pet causes.

Mayor McLean’s stunt is a warning shot to every conservative: the Left will not stop, even in deep-red states. If they can hijack the symbols of civic life in Boise, Idaho, they can do it anywhere.
