Another Democrat’s corruption has been exposed—this time in Atlanta. Shelitha Robertson, a former assistant attorney and Democrat insider, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for stealing nearly $15 million in COVID relief funds. Ironically, just before her arrest, Robertson appeared on a podcast preaching about “accountability” and how she would “never sell her soul for a dollar.” It turns out that’s exactly what she did.
Robertson, 62, was convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering, and three counts of wire fraud after she and her accomplices scammed the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) during the pandemic. According to prosecutors, she fraudulently inflated the number of employees at four of her businesses and used the stolen taxpayer money to fund an extravagant lifestyle—buying a $490,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom, a 10-carat diamond ring, and even making a $1,000 donation to controversial Democrat prosecutor Fani Willis.
U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan condemned Robertson’s crimes, explaining how she abused a program designed to keep small businesses afloat during lockdowns. “CARES Act loans were designed to help sustain small businesses during the pandemic, not to serve as a source of personal enrichment,” Buchanan said in a Department of Justice (DOJ) statement. “We will continue to vigorously investigate and prosecute anyone who fraudulently obtains these critical funds.”
Preaching Morality While Stealing Millions
Perhaps the most outrageous part of this case is Robertson’s public remarks about morality. Before her arrest, she confidently lectured about choosing “integrity” over money, stating, “I don’t choose selling your soul to the devil… because that means I’m willing to do anything, belittle myself, and degrade myself for the love of $1.” The hypocrisy is staggering.
In another cringe-worthy moment, she declared, “My integrity, what my kids and how my kids respect me and view me mean more to me than me earning a quick dollar.” Well, she certainly cashed in on much more than a “quick dollar.”
Social Media Reacts: “Just the Tip of the Iceberg”
Robertson’s sentencing quickly became a hot topic online, with social media users calling out both her corruption and the leniency of her punishment.
One user summed up what many conservatives suspect: “Tip of the iceberg. Almost every business owner got a piece of that action, but some got out of control greedy.” Another sarcastically remarked, “This is perfect. Dem attorney convicted in $7 million COVID relief fraud case.”
Some questioned whether seven years was enough for a crime of this scale. One post read, “Did she have to repay any of the money she stole? If not, then with good behavior, she’ll serve about five years, which means $3 million per year served. Not a bad deal.” Another user demanded a harsher sentence: “Seven years seems kind of light to me. 10-15 would be better.”
Then there’s the sheer stupidity of her flaunting her wealth. “Did she really, seriously think no one would notice when she’s driving around in a $490,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom and flashing a 10-carat diamond?” one commenter asked.
Will Justice Be Fully Served?
While Robertson is heading to prison, the bigger question remains: how many more Democrat operatives have pulled similar scams and gotten away with it? The PPP program was a goldmine for fraud, and while a few high-profile criminals are being caught, it’s hard to ignore the likelihood that many others are still walking free—especially if they have the right political connections.
Robertson’s story is another example of the deep corruption within the Democratic Party, where politicians and insiders talk about fairness and accountability while shamelessly lining their pockets with taxpayer money. The real tragedy? For every Democrat caught, there are countless others still gaming the system.
