Far-left Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is once again facing renewed scrutiny for her inflammatory rhetoric — rhetoric that many conservatives argue has long crossed the line into incitement of violence. Calls are growing louder for the Department of Justice to investigate whether Waters and other Democrats are encouraging the kind of lawless behavior that has destabilized cities and endangered American lives.

The firestorm over Waters’ past remarks has been reignited following recent radical rhetoric from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who urged his supporters to “fight it in the streets” in reference to President Trump’s policy agenda. Conservatives see this as part of a disturbing pattern among Democrat leaders — a pattern of encouraging civil unrest when they don’t get their way.

For many, the most glaring example remains Waters’ 2021 outburst during the trial of Derek Chauvin, when she traveled to Brooklyn Center, Minnesota — a city already on edge amid violent protests — and all but incited more chaos.

Speaking before the verdict was even delivered, Waters told the crowd:

“We’ve got to stay in the street and demand justice.”

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict… if nothing does happen, then we know that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice.”

That wasn’t all. Waters explicitly encouraged more aggressive tactics, telling protesters:

“We’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure they know that we mean business.”

Imagine, for a moment, if a Republican member of Congress told a conservative crowd to “get more confrontational” in a city already on fire with tension. The media would lose its collective mind. The DOJ would launch investigations. Impeachment calls would ring through Capitol Hill.

Yet Waters faced no consequences.

Even more disturbing, when pressed about violating local curfew laws — laws put in place to help restore order — Waters shrugged it off:

“I don’t think anything about curfew… I don’t agree with that.”

Her blatant disregard for the rule of law and encouragement of mob action have now resurfaced thanks to Jeffries’ recent comments about resisting Trump’s agenda. In a press conference filled with progressive buzzwords and fearmongering, Jeffries told Americans:

“We’re going to fight it legislatively. We’re going to fight it in the courts. And we’re going to fight it in the streets.”

There it is again — the same coded language the left has used for years to signal unrest when the democratic process doesn’t favor them. From Occupy Wall Street to Antifa riots and BLM chaos, the radical left has increasingly embraced mob rule as a political weapon.

Conservatives are now calling on the DOJ to take these remarks seriously and hold Democrats to the same standard they constantly demand for Republicans. Because if inciting violence is unacceptable — it should be unacceptable for everyone, not just one side.
