David Boyer politely requested that the chamber wait for him to cast his vote. What should have been a routine exchange quickly turned into an embarrassing display of arrogance and rage from a man clearly unaccustomed to being questioned.
The clip begins with an off-camera voice saying, “Point of order.” Fecteau responds with icy irritation, “The Chair would inquire as to point of order?” The voice explains, “Everybody didn’t vote.” Fecteau then asks how the “Representative from Chelsea” would like to be recorded.
Boyer calmly responds, “Next time I would like to have the respect of waiting for me to vote.” That simple, respectful request sent the Democrat Speaker into full meltdown mode. “The member will defer!” Fecteau shouted, his voice rising with anger.
