Jessica Morris, a waitress from Ohio, recently served a newlywed couple and got a tip that she was certainly not expecting. Morris is a newlywed herself, and could relate to the couple’s excitement. She figured she had been polite enough to receive a tip, but was surprised when the wife, who is referred to as Jenny, gave her a nasty message in lieu of a tip. After work, Morris posted a picture of the couple’s receipt on Facebook along with a message of her own. Although the post has now been deleted, it received over 50,000 shares.

In her note, Morris explained that the couple in question was having dinner with another couple. Morris said the couple told her about their recent wedding, and she told them she just got married as well. She said the couple placed her order, and the wife, Jenny, asked her what her name was. She told her that her name was Jessica, and the woman asked if they could call her “Jess,” and she said that they could call her whatever they wished. Morris assumed the couple was having a good time, as she noticed them laughing and smiling throughout their entire dinner. However, when she came back to retrieve their receipt, she found that Jenny had left her a $0 tip and a note saying, “He’s my husband, find your own.” Morris also noted that Jenny stole her only pen.

She went on to write a letter to Jenny about the fact that she already had a husband of her own, who was serving other tables in the same restaurant that night. She also expressed that there was no reason for Jenny to feel insecure. She should have pride in her relationship with her spouse, and she shouldn’t have to write mean notes to other women in order to make herself feel better.
