I have never seen water so blue and the sky so crystal clear. The experience was unreal. It seems like a beautiful Y shaped lake went on forever. I found it fascinating that they call it the Larian Triangle, and every moment floating above that sparkling water made me appreciate everything that the incredible life has to offer. I see how it could be the third-largest lake in Italy. On the small ship that carried me to and fro over the water.
I was told that the best part of the trip would be the amazing landscapes and wildlife. Being in the belly of the true beauty of nature really put the fast world of the city into perspective and with my immersion into the wonderful surroundings, I find myself appreciating the beautiful things that life has to offer.
As we get off the boat, I walk the narrow streets and marvel at the many luxurious villas along the lakeside overseeing the water. The homes are so large and beautiful that I feel like I am in one of the wealthier spots in the US, like the California hills. I visit the Villa Carlotta, an amazing villa built for the Milanese Marquis Giorgio Clerici. This 1690s home is sitting on 17 acres of land at Tremesso overlooking the Bellagio peninsula. It was a massive building and finely built. The architecture was made to last and there has been little to no restoration to the home. As I walk around the estate, I approach a massive fountain. The steps were uniquely designed and the fountains seemed to shoot up into the heavens. I can remember how the birds loved to dance and play in the sparkling water.
Around the fountain were amazing sculptures that were so well designed that they appeared to be as close to lifelike as you could imagine. The faces were beautifully crafted to show the emotions of the Gods. I take several pictures as we cross to the public garden, namely the Parco Meier. The winding staircase made of concrete were surprisingly smooth to the touch as I held on to the fancy handcrafted railing. The fountain was smaller than the other ones I had encountered but something about standing at the top of the concrete stairway made the fountain look like one of the most lovely little structures I had ever seen.
After enjoying the glory of the Villas and taking pictures, I reboard the Ferrie, destination, Sacro Monte di Ossuccio. It is a sanctuary located on a lovely hillside slope. The olive groves and the woods edging the Lake Como facing the Isola Comacina.
Lake Como has many villas, resorts, and other incredible localities on the Western, South, and Eastern shores. The scenes of dark green mountains, filled to the brim with lush brush woods really accent the villas across the shoreline. The tropical climate kept the cloud full and low and the entire scene looked like a layered cake of the cosmos.
My trip to the lovely Lake Como provided me with the greatest experience that I had ever enjoyed on vacation. I would highly recommend if you have a chance to travel abroad, you should seriously consider the amazing Italian lake and the other cities surround the bay.
