In these times, there is so much sadness and misery in every direction you look. Earthquakes in California, political turmoil in virtually every state in America, even different groups fighting for basic rights and liberties.

Living in today’s world, there can be a lot to be down about; but depending on what you choose to look for or focus on, there are many mini blessings that can create happiness, even if it’s in something small. How about the New Year? Even a tradition like going to the fireworks and seeing the beautiful sky filled with colorful lights will brighten up your mood.

Many countries around the world, like Paris, Bangkok, Dubai, and Capetown put a lot of time and resources into putting together extravagant shows with numerous lights. They risk their lives setting off colorful explosions for one reason–your amazement.

Or what about nature? Watching a fire fighter in Oregon helping a deer afraid for their live stuck on ice get back to solid ground is a sign of the small things in live we can all appreciate and warm our hearts with. Especially being able to watch the deer thankfully running back to his winter wonderland.

How about the wonderful world of technology? Sure, none of us are old enough to see a T-Rex in our lifetimes, but the amazing and innovative inventions that civilizations have come up with make even our wildest dreams of roaming with the dinosaurs come true.

Being a spectator in London seeing the movable model from Jurassic Park is a life changing and nostalgic experience. Or what about seeing an amazing art piece created by a toddler? I mean, it melts your heart to see a precious child but imagine seeing baby Felicity create kitten art is one of the more simple, but finer things in life. If none of that is impressive or makes you feel that little tingle inside, how about being in paradise feeding exotic animals in a bathing suit?

The key to life is to make the most out of what you have. Chase your dreams and your happiness, even in the hard times. The pursuit of happiness can get you through the hardest times in your life, so just keep going. Life is about getting through trails to get to the triumphs.

The Lord will put you through tribulations, like Noah and the flood, but in the end, there will be a rainbow. Chase the rainbows in life.
