Many animals have features that distinguish them from other animals.
For example, you can easily spot a hedgehog by looking at its spikes. However, Nelson the hedgehog is not like all the other hedgehogs because he does not have any spikes. He is completely bald. Nelson will not survive long if he is released back into the wild because he has no way to protect himself from predators.
Nelson was rescued and is being taken care of by Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue.
They stated that it is a miracle that Nelson survived and lived to adulthood.
They also stated that Nelson is in good health. He is happy at the sanctuary because he is being treated like royalty by the staff members. He does not seem to mind that he is not like all of the other hedgehogs.
Nelson gets regular oil massages and other spa-like treatments. No one knows what caused Nelson to lose his spikes. The Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue is located in Hemsby. It was started in 2008 by a husband and wife.
They rescue small animals and give them the chance to have a better life. The Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue uses all donations to buy food, medication and equipment for the animals.
