A brand new eye test has gone viral, but not everybody is happy with their results.

On the surface, this test just looks like a big red circle, much like the one at the center of the Japanese flag. But, of course, there is much more to it than that. What more is there to see, you ask? Well, why don’t you go ahead and give it a try for yourself.

Just relax and stare at the center of the circle for a few minutes. We will tell you the secret in the next paragraph. So, did you see anything? Most people see the outline of a horse in the center of this dot.

If you are one of the lucky few with truly gifted eyeballs, you might have been able to make out the entire detailed outline of the horse, complete with saddle and grass underneath. Unfortunately, there are also some people out there who cannot make out anything at all.

However, those who cannot see the horse have no reason to fear.

In fact, many ophthalmologists have told reporters that this test is not a great indicator on overall eye health. Sometimes people with glaucoma are able to see the horse clearer than a person with 20/20 vision.

The only thing this test may indicate is that a person who can see the horse has better contrast sensitivity.

Since the pixels that make up the horse are made with a smaller decreased contrast against the other pixels, people who can see the horse’s outline simply have eyes that are better able to tell the difference between bright red and slightly darker red pixels.
