Christian Buchanan is a special child. Not only was he born with cleft palate, but he also does not have any eyes. He is five-years-old, and his story is an inspiration to many people.
The boy’s condition is rare, and only 50 people in the world have it. Lacey, who is Christian’s mother, has stated that even though Christian has a disability, his heart is whole.
No one knows exactly what caused Christian’s condition. However, doctors have stated that his face was not completely developed. Lacey knew that something was wrong with Christian before he was born.
When she was 18 weeks pregnant, the doctors discovered that Christian had cleft palate, but they did not know how severe the condition was. Lacey was told that she should abort the child, but she refused.
Christian underwent surgery at just four days old. He also requires daily therapy. However, Lacey would not change anything that she has gone through. She stated that the world is a better place because of Christian.
On the day of Christian’s first birthday, Lacey made a video and posted it on Facebook. It went viral and touched millions of lives. Lacey and her husband have also shared their story on national television.
