A major problem that many people have to deal with is storage space in the home.

This is a particularly troublesome issue when it comes to storing food in the kitchen. Some people are lucky enough to have a kitchen pantry. Unfortunately, pantries are not always enough to handle all the food and supplies in a home.

A pantry can quickly become a disorganized nightmare. Getting something out of the panty could involve shuffling everything around, knocking cans to the floor or stretching to reach the backs of shelves.

A woman named Emily from the Decorchick blog came up with a simple and effective solution to the problem.

Emily had a small panty with about five narrow shelves spanning two walls.

There was never enough space for everything. She decided to change the shelves to make them more functional. Emily took out all the food. She then removed a vertical piece of wood securing the shelves at the corner.

She went out and purchased five round carousels similar to a lazy Susan. She drilled holes in the shelves at the corner where the two walls met. She did this in the same spot all the way down.

Emily then placed a carousel in each hole. She finished by adding two new vertical wood braces to the shelves on each side of the carousels.

The result is that the entire corner of the pantry is now accessible. Emily can spin the carousels to get at all the food and supplies without having to reach over everything.

They are so effective that she was able to get a much larger amount of food in the pantry. This is a simple project that can be done with very little effort.
