Anyone can be a victim of fraud. However, elderly people are more likely to be a victim of fraud.

Elderly people are often too trusting, and they lack computer skills. Have you received a call from someone who asks you to reveal your personal information or buy something? This is extremely common. One scammer recently got caught. A group of elderly residents in Johnson City, Tennessee were scammed out of $100,000.

A scam-artist plumber did terrible work and charged ridiculous prices. They told “Inside Edition” about the scam. They decided to set up a camera in a house. They then called the scammer, whose name is Glenn Harris.

They wanted to see if Glenn would attempt to rip them off. When Glenn was confronted by the reporters, he denied that he had scammed people. Carol was one of the first customers to report that Glen had ripped them off. She called Glenn to fix her bathroom.

The fix should have been simple, but Glenn continued to work.

The bill ended up being over $7,000. To make matters worse, Glenn only wanted cash. Carol took out cash advances in order to pay Glenn. Sadly, she died shortly after she paid Glenn. Her son believes that the stress caused her to have a stroke.
