Going into labor is something that every pregnant woman must do, and while there might be a few surprises, the delivery often comes off without a hitch. One woman went to the hospital to have her baby, but the doctors told her something rather surprising.

The woman and her boyfriend live in Montreal. The entire time of the pregnancy, the man believes that his girlfriend is pregnant with quintuplets. When the woman goes to the hospital in labor, the man was told that his girlfriend wasn’t pregnant. The man had become anxious about the new family, purchasing five cribs to go in a nursery that he designed. Each of the baby’s names was already picked out before the due date. There were donations sent to the family after a social media post announced that the couple were going to have five babies. The woman didn’t lie to her boyfriend for the entire time she was pregnant. Her stomach was enlarged, and she was producing milk, so she thought that she was pregnant. The parents wanted grandchildren, and the couple thought that everything was normal, only to be told it was a false pregnancy. The woman told her boyfriend over the course of months that she was having twins, then triplets, finally telling him that it was quintuplets. When the couple arrived at the hospital, there were no records indicating she had ever been in for a pregnancy exam.

The woman’s pregnancy is what doctors call a phantom pregnancy. This is when the body thinks it’s pregnant, but it’s really not. The couple met online, and after dating, the woman told her boyfriend they were having a baby. However, she had never been to get a pregnancy test. The boyfriend is doing the right thing in returning all of the items that others have donated.
