25-year-old Steph Claire has caused quite the stir on Instagram. The young Australian model has over 1 million followers and often posts suggestive photos where she’s only wearing a bikini. Critics have derided Steph for the photos. They say she’s only doing it for male attention. It seems that there is one user in particular who has been “trolling” or being intentionally controversial, The user complained about the kind of photos that Steph chooses to post.
Steph thinks differently and takes a body-positive approach to her posts. She is proud of her lean and athletic appearance. The magazine Australian Women’s Health recently interviewed her on the topic. In the interview Steph explained that being fit was her primary goal when she first started modelling. It was a way to be in shape and achieve the toned look that many photographers and agencies look for. Steph shared that even a year ago she hated running and exercise in general. Now working out just makes her happy and she actually runs three times a week. Steph further expanded on these thoughts via a recent Instagram story. In the story Steph revealed that “I actually love being me!” She models in swimwear to show just how comfortable she is in her body. Steph believes that this is nothing to be ashamed of. She says that society should let women post whatever they want to share. If someone has a problem with these posts, Steph commented, then they should just unfollow. These opinions clearly resonated with Steph’s female followers. Steph shared that after the post she received tons of supportive messages where women expressed gratitude. They told Steph how inspiring and refreshing her statement was.
At the same time Steph is fully aware that a lot of her photos do indeed get male attention even if that’s not her primary goal. Steph got engaged in late 2018. She says her fianc, Josh Miller, has reinforced her self-esteem. She says that he is great at “making me feel like a 10 out of 10 every single day of my life.” He doesn’t care what she wears: Steph could be completely herself or completely covered up and he loves her just the same.
Josh and Steph are childhood sweethearts and have been dating for many years. The two are currently planning their wedding. The ceremony is scheduled to take place in November 2019. Steph shared that the wedding will be a fun event and a “big party.” It is a fitting celebration for someone who is rapidly becoming a unique social media star. No wonder Steph is smiling in many of her posts: she is clearly comfortable in her own body and is pleased to share that.
