In Honolulu Hawaii, the café owner of the restaurant called 8 1/2 Cafe taped up a hand-written sign on what appears to be a yellowed envelope that read, “If you voted for Trump, you cannot eat here.”

Upon visiting the Yelp website, it appears that Cafe 8 1/2 reviews are undergoing an active clean up alert which appears to be Yelp removing any comments that are motivated by political coverage itself rather than the actual restaurant services.

Many people felt that the restaurant should focus on food and not on possibly insulting those who voted for Trump. The sign hinted at the fact that Trump voters were also Nazi sympathizers.

Many people also took offense to the “No Nazis” comment on the sign, and this may have contributed to the current less than stellar reviews and the drop ratings for Cafe 8 1/2.

The restaurant at some point had great reviews, but it plummeted down to having 2 out of 5 stars. While many people were dismayed and turned-off by the sign, many were also inspired by it. The restaurant seemed to attract those who are not fans of Trump, as they were willing to support a restaurant that was open with their political views.

Many people felt that the restaurant should be sued for discrimination, while others say that the restaurant holds its right to serve and refuse service to anyone. In this case, the free market decides the fate of 8 ˝ Café.

In the end, they are a business, and even though they may be trying to thwart “Nazism” and bullying at their restaurant, many might feel that they are part of the ‘bullying’ problem as well by comparing Republican voters to Nazi sympathizers.
