When a pregnant mother in North Carolina posted a picture of her baby bump on her Facebook page, she didn’t think that she would soon be arrested on multiple charges.

However, after notification was sent to the police by someone with a sharp eye for details, that is exactly what happened.

A casual glance at the picture may not be enough to see what ended up getting her in trouble, but if you pay attention to the table to the left of Natasha Kirkland, you will quickly see what the problem was. At 20 weeks pregnant, the 26-year-old woman from Cherokee proudly posted the picture of her fourth child’s progress.

The attempt to show her babies growth resulted in multiple charges, including felony credit card fraud, larceny of a firearm, driving with a revoked driver’s license, and obtaining property under false pretenses. Ironically, Kirkland did not receive any sentencing for drug paraphernalia possession, which is what brought the officers knocking in the first place.

If you look carefully at the posted photograph, you will see a table behind her that contains a spoon and syringe. Kirkland’s arm also is featuring a tie-off for drug injection.

When Kirkland was released from jail, she immediately claimed that her page had been hacked, and that it was a picture from a year ago when she was admittedly partaking in drugs, and that she has since ceased using.

She also stated that she was not going to let this picture stop her from continuing her struggle for sobriety.
