Twenty-four-year-old Ashley Hutt and her 25-year-old boyfriend named Leroy McIver were recently arrested for endangering the lives of children. The kids were found in a rat-infested home with rat droppings and dirty needles.

A friend alerted the authorities after visiting the home. Child Protective Services launched an investigation, and the children were removed in November 2015. The children are now living in foster care.

Ashley and Leroy had also given the children heroin on multiple occasions. The oldest child told authorities about how he and his siblings were injected with heroin.

He also stated that his mother’s boyfriend choked him once before giving him the drug. Additionally, the boy told the authorities that he and his sister were given feel what he called “feel good medicine” before they went to sleep.

The police officers found traces of heroin in the two-year-old girl’s hair.

Two of the three children tested positive for drugs.

Ashley has been charged with three counts of delivering an unlawful substance to a minor, second-degree child assault and second-degree criminal mistreatment.

Leroy is also facing the same charges. Both of them have admitted to being addicted to heroin. Neighbors have stated that the police officers were in the neighborhood often.
