Florida mom Angie Padron never expected to find herself in a life or death situation at the Tom Thumb gas station, but that is exactly what happened.

She was outside when a pair of armed attackers pounded on and tried to enter her car, in which her two children were sitting. Terrified, she screamed for them to go away, but one of the men went ahead and got into the driver’s seat. It was at this time that her maternal instincts kicked into high gear.

Even though the men had weapons and looked extremely dangerous, she marched over to her car and yanked the intruder out. Not only did she eject him from the car, she managed to remove his face mask.

It was at this point that he and his accomplice decided things were getting too complicated and made a mad dash for it. In the meantime, however, because she had exposed the man’s face, the security cameras got a good shot of the carjacker.

As a result, the police were able to track the attackers down, along with the man driving them, and arrest them soon afterward. Padron surprised herself with her courage, but she followed her instincts to do whatever she could to protect her children.

Now they will always have an amazing story to tell about the time that their mom rescued them from a truly scary situation. Big props to this woman for her quick thinking and bravery.

Clearly her children are in good hands!

A mother who fought off a pair of armed carjackers in Hialeah spoke publicly for the very first time, saying she was trying to protect her children."I didn't even think about the guns. I didn't think about what they were going to do to me or what they could have done to me," said Angie Padron in an interview on "Good Morning America." "I just thought about getting the kids out."Padron was pumping gas at a Hialeah Tom Thumb convenience store with her two children in the back seat when a gunman ran at her while another suspect ran for the driver's side door."I was yelling at him, 'My kids are in the car. Don't get in the car,'" she said. When yelling didn't work, she said she went after one of the men with her bare hands.

She's seen on surveillance cameras pulling the man out of her car, which caused both suspects to take off running.Padron adjusts her blouse and calmly walks to her car.It didn't take long for police to spot those involve
