Mexico is known for its rich heritage. There is a cathedral in Guadalajara that stands out from the rest of the city because of its beauty and design. The tall spires stand up to overlook the city. Inside the cathedral is a mummified girl in a casket. The casket has a clear top so that visitors can see her.
This young girl is dressed in a beautiful white gown. Some have lit candles that have been placed around the girl while others place flowers around her. When people are looking at her, they don’t expect to see her blink her eyes at them.
There are a few rumors about Santa Inocencia. Some believe that she was murdered when Christianity was on the rise in Mexico. Others believe that she was listening to her friends talk about receiving their communion one day and that when she went home to talk to her father about it, he hit her very hard.
A nun saw her sitting outside a class on day and gave her a white gown.
Her father learned about what she was doing, and he stabbed her. Neighbors found the body and had a proper ceremony. She was preserved in wax so that her body wouldn’t decompose.
