As far as professions go, the work of a lumberjack can be incredibly tiring and dangerous.

However, sometimes a lumberjack will stumble upon a discovery that makes all of the physical demands of the job seem worthwhile. For instance, a few loggers recently stumbled upon an interesting case while they were just participating in a regular tree removal.

Wedged within the rings of the tree they were cutting down, they found bullets—and lots of them.

According to information from locals, it seemed that the tree had probably been the victims of bored hunters who were shooting at it.

However, these hunters probably had no way of knowing that their unsuccessful hunting day would be discovered a whopping three decades later! Because experts are able to determine a tree’s age by looking at its rings, perhaps it should come as no surprise that they were able to intuit that this tree had been shot approximately 30 years ago.

Unlike humans, trees do not have to get surgery after being shot, and they do not heal from their wounds.

There is no way to expel the evidence, either.

The tree will just keep growing around the bullets, keeping the memory of its injuries enshrined within. It seems strange, but the record of one hunter’s unremarkable day was able to live on in this tree.
