Tom Selleck is known for his amazing acting abilities. However, there are a lot of things about Tom that many people do not know. In fact, many people do not know a lot about his early life. Before Tom was an actor, he was a star student at high school.
Not only did he excel in the classroom, but he also played basketball. Additionally, Tom developed an interest in acting while he was still in high school. Tom did land a few acting gigs after he graduated from high school. However, Tom’s life ended up taking a different course.
He joined the Army in 1969 and served until 1973. Tom stated that he was very happy to serve in the military. After Tom returned home from the Army, he found out that he had been fired from Fox. However, that certainly would not be the end of his career.
Tom ended up landing a role on a show entitled “Magnum P.I.” This show is what helped Tom get his acting career off of the ground. Even though Tom has had a very successful career, he has not let the fame go to his head. He stays grounded by reading his Bible.
Tom is a Christian and a family man. He has been married since 1987 and has one child.
